James Gordon Bennett

James Gordon Bennett has been involved with the marriage of design and technology for well over a decade. In 1991, he became associated with the highly experimental "Arts and Technology Lab" at the University of South Florida where he developed screen graphics and computer-generated animation during the infancy of new media.

He has held the chair position for the Interactive Media and Graphic Design departments and is currently the Coordinator of the MFA Program at the International Academy of Design & Technology in Tampa, Florida, and chair of the Web Design and Web Development programs at the Academy Online. He is also the author of Design Fundamentals for New Media, a textbook that is used in the curricula of over 25 different colleges and universities in North America and Europe, including Purdue University and the University of Birmingham in Great Britain.

As an educator, Bennett has taught at the University of South Florida and the International Academy of Design & Technology. He has also served as a curriculum consultant and content expert for several colleges in the United States and with Thomson/Delmar Learning.

In the area of technology, James is a full partner in 3cg, Inc., a web design firm with a business presence in Tampa, Florida, and Denver, Colorado, that specializes in sites for the entertainment and professional sports industries. Bennett is also under contract for a second text book with Delmar Learning.
