Same Cost, Higher-Level Education
Daniel Sykes started his college career in an Associate degree program in New York. A year into the program, he heard about the International Academy of Design & Technology in Tampa—and learned that, for about the same amount of money as his Associate degree, he could get his Bachelor's degree at the Academy in Tampa. Daniel headed south.
Daniel graduated from the Academy in Tampa with his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interactive Media in June. "Even though I got a Bachelor's degree from the Academy for almost the same amount of money as I would have paid to get my Associate degree in New York, I didn't get any less of an education because I opted for a less expensive school. I came out of the Academy with a lot of knowledge."
Daniel also came out of the Academy in Tampa with a job in his field. In fact, Daniel got the job about three months before he had even graduated with his Bachelor's degree. Daniel works at a company doing web development. "It's a great job because the company allows me to show my creative side as well as my development knowledge," he says.
"I couldn't have gotten this job without my degree from the Academy in Tampa. The Academy crafted me to fit a position like this—as well as many others in the web field. Before the Academy, web design and development were just interests of mine. The Academy turned my interests into a solid career."
The web development position isn't Daniel's only job. He has already started a few small businesses, including his own consulting firm, and has plans to launch at least one more business of his own in the upcoming months. "I have no doubt the Bachelor's degree from the Academy in Tampa was a much better investment than the Associate degree I originally started in New York. I am not only more well-rounded than I would have been with only an Associate degree, but my knowledge of the web extends deeper."
