The Designers’ Scholarship
The Designers’ Scholarship has been established to award students who demonstrate
success, or the potential for success, in one of the programs offered at the Academy.
Applicants may be new or continuing students and must submit an application, essay,
and a portfolio or demo reel, if available. The essay should describe why the applicant
feels he/she is deserving of the award.
Applications and supporting documents should
be submitted to the attention of the Director of Financial Aid. Deadlines for submission
will be December 15th, March 15th, June 15th, and September 15th for the winter,
spring, summer and fall terms, respectively. Tuition scholarship awards range from
$500 to $7200 with financial need a factor in determining the amount of the award
for each academic year. Applications may be obtained through Admissions, Financial
Aid, or the Student Portal.
The scholarship recipients and the amount of the award
will be determined by a committee comprising the Vice President of Education, the
Vice President of Student Services and the Director of Financial Aid. Recipients
must maintain satisfactory academic progress, a 2.0 GPA, and full-time status (12
credit hours or more). Recipients must meet monthly with other Designers’ Scholarship
recipients.
The annual aggregate amount of the Academy Designers’ Scholarship awards
will not exceed $500,000. Scholarships may be renewed for the second academic year
if the recipient meets academic requirements and financial need criteria.
